National Love your Pet Day

Research has shown that for those living with dementia, being surrounded by pets is highly beneficial. In light of this, those who live at Frome Nursing Home were particularly keen to celebrate National Love Your Pet Day. Everyone shared their memories of owning pets as well as giving Boots, the home’s cat, even more love and attention than usual.

Frome Nursing Home is a Somerset Nursing Home committed to creating the perfect homely environment so is keen to let Boots enjoy the home and spend time with those who live there, as well as organising a number of free events for the community and undergoing an extensive refurbishment.

Maggie Rhodes, Manager at Frome Nursing Home, said “So many of the individuals who live in Frome Nursing Home used to work on farms, so the day was a great chance to share memories of these times as well as dishing out love for Boots. She enjoyed the attention, though typically for a cat she pretended not to be bothered! We bought her a lovely treat to thank her for the enjoyment we get from her relaxing presence in the home.”

Frome Nursing Home supports up to 60 individuals with various nursing and residential needs and is currently recruiting nurses and care workers from the community to join its award winning team. Frome Nursing Home currently also has room to expand its family. If you’d like to find out more about Frome Nursing Home, please call 0117 287 2566 or email arrangingsupport@fromecarevillage.com.
